07 Mar Office Coffee Service
It has been a little over a month since we launched our Office Coffee Service division and the response and acceptance of our program has been overwhelming. Our program was built on the foundation of providing the highest quality brewing equipment along with specialty grade coffee that is freshly roasted right here in Michigan. The term Specialty Grade Coffee refers to the highest quality green coffee beans roasted to their optimum flavor potential by true craftsmen. This combination allows for office coffee that is properly brewed to Gold Cup standards and separates us from others in the office coffee service competitive space.
When we meet with our current customers and prospects we talk about the importance of offering quality coffee for their employees. According to the Accounting Principals Workonomix survey, 50 percent of the American workforce spends approximately $1,000 a year on coffee. The survey found that younger professionals (ages 18-34) spend almost twice as much on coffee during the week than those ages 45+. Quality office coffee is one of the most visible and appreciated daily benefits that a company provides to its employees. This benefit is becoming more pronounced as younger professionals enter the workplace.
The survey goes on to say that employers should focus on the “simple pleasures” to keep employees happy. Nearly one quarter of those surveyed wanted to see their company invest in coffee (22%). Small improvements around the office such as better office equipment, food and drinks can make a big difference in workers’ morale. As the economic recovery continues to improve, employers should look to these “simple pleasures” as a way of attracting talent into their organizations as well as retaining the talent they already have.
